Data Reclamation Handbook

In an increasingly online world, control over data means power. This zine works to reclaim some of that power and open up new conversations in the importance of fibre arts that have historically been dismissed as ‘women’s work’.

Throughout this zine and activity pack, readers will learn about the history of textile being used to transport encrypted messages for the Allies in WW2. Then they can use the bespoke hidden alphabet designed to perfectly fit in a cross stitch grid in order to recreate their own hidden messages.

The zine was printed as a rispgraph run of 50 copies at Domesticity Brussels. If you wish to purchase a copy please contact me. Alongside the zine I developed a website for users to generate their hidden cross-stitch messages instantly.
